Medical Director

About the role

The Medical Director position will collaborate with the Program Director and the entire clinical team to provide medical direction in conformance with the facility's policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical direction in conformance with the facility's policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission.
• Collaborate with the Program Director and the entire clinical team to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Assess patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
• Train and mentor staff members in medical and clinical best practices.
• Conduct regular rounds to monitor patient care and address any issues promptly.
• Develop and maintain relationships with referring physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects related to rehabilitation medicine.

Requirements

• A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
• A current Missouri medical license.
• At least five years of experience in acute rehabilitation medicine.
• Experience with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to healthcare administration.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
• Experience with interdisciplinary team management.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation medicine and its applications.
