About the role
The Substance Use Counselor will assist patients through medically assisted treatments and provide techniques for managing opioid use. The Counselor conducts individual and group sessions focused on crisis management and coping strategies, evaluates patient progress, and collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling services at regularly scheduled intervals
- Coordinate all services throughout treatment
- Complete bio-psychosocial assessments
- Facilitate, establish, and review initial treatment plans with each patient
- Develop aftercare and discharge plans
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients
- Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor
Qualifications
- Certified Counselor in the State of California
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plus
- Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward the patient population
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check
Pay
Salary ranges from $26.39 to $27.39 per hour. The salary will be set based on experience, education, specialty, training, and other relevant factors.
