Certified Counselor
About the role
BAART Programs is seeking a compassionate Certified Substance Use Counselor to assist patients through medically assisted treatments and provide techniques for managing opioid use. The Counselor conducts individual and group sessions focused on crisis management and coping strategies, evaluates patient progress, and collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to support improved patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling services at regularly scheduled intervals
- Coordinate all services throughout treatment
- Complete biopsychosocial assessments
- Facilitate, establish, and review initial treatment plans with each patient
- Develop aftercare and discharge plans
- Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients
- Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor
Requirements
- Certified Counselor in the State of California
- Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals (preferred)
- Demonstrated positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward patient population
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check
Pay
Salary ranges from $28.08 to $29.08 an hour. The final salary will be set based on factors including experience, education, specialty, and training.
