Description
Facilitates proper medical coding for general and specialty surgery procedures, add-on codes and other services alike. Is considered a subject matter expert in the codes and terminologies used in multiple specialties (i.e., Breast Surgery, Cardio and Thoracic Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, General Surgery, Hand Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, OB Surgery, Trauma and Surgical Critical Care, Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Bariatric Surgery and more).
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in medical coding and terminology across various surgical specialties
- Strong analytical skills to ensure accurate and compliant coding
- Knowledge of current healthcare regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with healthcare providers
Skills
- Coding proficiency in relevant medical coding systems (e.g., ICD-10-CM, CPT)
- Understanding of surgical procedures and their associated codes
- Attention to detail and accuracy in coding processes
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
