Certified Coder (PRN)

Job Specific Competencies

• Performs all functions essential in the billing of providers and ancillary services.
• Organizes workflow and communication with the clinics and providers for accurate billing information.
• Effectively communicates within the organization and with the public consistent with the clinic philosophy, vision and mission.
• Appropriately uses facility communication, information systems and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED, Associate degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum two years in a Physician Coding environment.
• Certification/License: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Evaluation and Management Coder (CEMC) for E&M Specialties and Family Medicine.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Competency in medical terminology as demonstrated by either formal training or experience. Must be able to assess self-learning needs and participate in educational programs as appropriate. Computer literate. Knowledge and experience with ICD-10 and CPT coding.
