About the role
The Roaring Fork School District (RFSD) is seeking a CLDE Teacher and Coach for the 2026-2027 school year at Bridges High School. This is a one-year position reporting to the principal.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction for at least 1 additional core academic or elective class outside of ELD.
- Collaborate with regular classroom teachers to impact instruction for emerging bilingual students.
- Focus areas are on Literacy-Based ELD instructional settings, incorporating the WIDA Framework for content area instruction in math, science, and social studies.
- Ensure the school adheres to policies and procedures for determining CLDE program eligibility, re-designation, monitoring, and exiting.
- Address required programming criteria: All emerging bilingual students at Bridges HS have English, math, science, social studies, and Literacy-Based ELD classes. Specials/electives are offered as available.
- Work with problem-solving teams to help determine the root cause and make appropriate placements into CLDE Instructional settings and/or Literacy Interventions for emerging bilingual students.
- Attend regularly scheduled professional development sessions to enhance coaching skills, ensure alignment with the District CLDE Team's goals, and continuously improve practices.
- Take on several roles: resource provider, data coach, ELD specialist, bilingual education expert, mentor, facilitator, leader, and catalyst for change.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited institution in CLDE, Spanish, or a related field of study.
- Active Colorado Teaching License with a CLDE Endorsement or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Completion of the READ ACT Training.
- Desired qualifications include experience and knowledge of English Language Development and theories of Bilingual Education, understanding of the WIDA Standards Framework, WAPT, and ACCESS, demonstrated skills and success in providing necessary supports in teaching content standards and incorporating appropriate language functions into product and process of instruction, prior experience working with adults regarding instruction and assessment, bilingual in English and Spanish, and positively and effectively advocating for the needs of emerging bilingual students and their families.
Qualifications
- Experience and knowledge of English Language Development and theories of Bilingual Education is required.
- Understanding of the WIDA Standards Framework, WAPT, and ACCESS is required.
- Demonstrated skills and success in providing the necessary supports in teaching content standards and incorporating appropriate language functions into product and process of instruction is necessary.
- Prior experience working with adults regarding instruction and assessment is recommended.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
