Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) - Inpatient Pediatrics

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments
• Use developmentally appropriate explanations and play
• Support nonpharmacological pain management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Develop coping plans
• Create educational resources for staff and families
• Supervise pediatric unit activities
• Oversight of inventory
• Mentor clinical students

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Child Development or related field
• Completion of 10 required courses by the Association of Child Life Professionals
• 600-hour internship completed within one year of employment
• Certification as a Child Life Specialist (CCLS) within one year of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment
