Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- A valid Connecticut State Board of Education teaching certificate/endorsement(s): Bilingual Biology 930.
- A current Motor Vehicle operator’s license (may be required).

Essential Functions
- Advises, assists, and supervises students with internships, volunteering, and community service projects.
- Evaluates student performance through examinations, homework assignments, and other methods.
- Implements the goals, objectives, and standards of the District, the school, and the specific program or department.
- Maintains contact and communications with parents of students, schedules and holds parent conferences, and recruits students into classes and specialized programs.
- Participates in staff development and professional growth activities.
- Performs classroom management duties, enforcing school rules, and ensuring the safety of students.
- Provides instruction in the core and age-appropriate curriculum, assesses initial knowledge or skills, and develops and implements instructional activities for students.
- Coordinates co-curricular and extracurricular school activities, participates in bus, lunch, and playground duty assignments, attends and participates in school planning and staff meetings, serves on various school committees, monitors classroom and student budgets and accounts, provides information for grant-writing processes, and develops, organizes, and implements students’ classroom and school performances, presentations, and exhibits.
- Assists with the mainstreaming of special needs students, coordinates the Planning and Placement Team (PPT) and/or Central Planning and Placement Team (CPPT), and determines the least restrictive environment.
