Certified Athletic Trainer - Tacoma

About the Role

Olympic Sports & Spine (OSS) is the official athletic training provider for the Tacoma School District and is seeking a full‑time Certified Athletic Trainer to serve Lincoln High School and the Tacoma Mall Blvd clinic. The ATC will deliver comprehensive athletic training services throughout the school year, including attending games and practices, providing treatment in the training room, developing preventive programs, managing emergencies, and overseeing rehabilitation and return‑to‑play programs, including concussion screening.

Responsibilities

• Attend all practices, games, and team events, traveling with the team to away games, community events, state championships, parks & rec league sports, and signature events such as the Tacoma City Marathon, Sound to Narrows, and Hoopfest.
• Provide first aid and immediate care for acute injuries and conduct thorough athletic injury evaluations.
• Deliver training‑room treatment for injuries and develop preventive programs to minimize sports‑related injuries.
• Assess, develop, implement, and oversee appropriate rehabilitation and return‑to‑play programs, including concussion screening.
• Communicate injuries, treatment plans, and progress to coaches, athletes, parents, and team physicians.
• Collaborate with school administrators, coaches, team physicians, athletes, and parents to ensure a safe and supportive athletic environment.
• Represent the OSS brand with independence while receiving direct support from the OSS management team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Athletic Training.
• Board of Certification (BOC) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Washington State licensure as an Athletic Trainer.
