Job Responsibilities

  • Affords assistance to the athletic director as needed.
  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Represents OMC as an educator and professional in the community.
  • Aligns the organization's needs with the Sports Medicine and Athletic Performance programs.
  • Keeps abreast of the latest sports medicine training techniques.
  • Uses equipment competently, including FMS evaluation kits, Game Ready, electric stimulation, and ultrasound machines.
  • Attends pre-participation sports physicals.
  • Maintains appropriate treatment orders that are reviewed annually and approved by the team physician.
  • Provides athletic training services for all athletic contests.
  • Serves as a liaison between family physicians, specialists, the school district, athletes, and their parents.
  • Maintains accurate records of injuries, treatments, and prepares insurance claim forms for sports injuries treated by a physician.
  • Provides a list of athletes who are medically eligible to compete according to district and state rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training (minimum).
  • Current board certification required.
  • Current state registration or eligibility for state registration.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum one year experience in the field of sports medicine.
