Job Responsibilities
- Affords assistance to the athletic director as needed.
- Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Represents OMC as an educator and professional in the community.
- Aligns the organization's needs with the Sports Medicine and Athletic Performance programs.
- Keeps abreast of the latest sports medicine training techniques.
- Uses equipment competently, including FMS evaluation kits, Game Ready, electric stimulation, and ultrasound machines.
- Attends pre-participation sports physicals.
- Maintains appropriate treatment orders that are reviewed annually and approved by the team physician.
- Provides athletic training services for all athletic contests.
- Serves as a liaison between family physicians, specialists, the school district, athletes, and their parents.
- Maintains accurate records of injuries, treatments, and prepares insurance claim forms for sports injuries treated by a physician.
- Provides a list of athletes who are medically eligible to compete according to district and state rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training (minimum).
- Current board certification required.
- Current state registration or eligibility for state registration.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum one year experience in the field of sports medicine.
