Certified Athletic Trainer (Per- Diem)- Jewett Orthopedic Institute, Florida West Coast

About the Role

This Per-Diem (pool) position supports Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute’s West Coast Florida partnerships. Scheduling will be as needed.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field or Bachelor’s in athletic training or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Preferred certifications: NASM-CES, NASM-PES, ISFTA-CPT, NSCA-CSCS, FMS, or SFMA.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Licensure & Certification

• Current certification as an Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC).
• Current Florida Athletic Trainer license issued by the Department of Health.
• Current BLS/HealthCare Provider Certification.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and must be insurable under Orlando Health’s insurance carrier requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to appropriately treat patients according to professional standards of practice.
• Coordinates patient care with other team members and educates patients and their families.
• Independently makes decisions affecting patient health and quality of life.
• Maintains a cheerful, caring, and professional atmosphere.
• Participates in performance improvement, program development, student supervision, assigned committees, safety, and infection control.
• Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Practices efficient use and selection of supplies and equipment.
• Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing when applicable.
