Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor

Responsibilities

• Help individuals and families with an addiction to alcohol, drugs, or another substance.
• Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling to patients.
• Refer patients to appropriate community organizations and outside programs.
• Explain addiction and its effects on the family.
• Create goals and treatment plans for patients.
• Counsel patients on social issues including housing, employment, education, family issues, and basic living skills.
• Counsel individuals or families affected by substance abuse.

Requirements

A genuine desire to help others and a natural understanding of the effects of addiction on an individual.

Qualifications

A willingness to learn and a background in counseling or related field.

Monday to Friday 5:30 am- 12:30 pm.

Pay

$30,000 to $35,000 depending on experience.
