Job Responsibilities
- Interpret regulatory standards and advise engineering teams so they meet product requirements
- Create and execute test plans, set up systems, coordinate testing, and obtain agency approvals
- Perform software and hardware testing to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities
- Analyze tasks, risks, deadlines, and priorities to develop realistic project schedules
- Implement quality control procedures and use approval guides to perform responsible test executions
- Develop standard work, implement best practices, and train engineering team members
- Maintain product and equipment compliance with latest changes from UL/ULC, EN, ISO, FM, and other global standards
- Resolve manufacturing audit concerns by providing accurate and complete information
- Optimize strategies for executing projects efficiently
- Identify test failure root causes and collaborate with engineers to resolve failures
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
- At least 1 year of experience with new product development or in an electrical/electronic testing laboratory
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits and electrical physics
- Strong problem-solving skills: prioritize, identify root causes, and take corrective actions
- Ability to use or learn and use lab equipment and relevant software, such as oscilloscopes, load developers, dielectric testers, transient machines, and environmental test chambers
- Proactive team fostering behavior and passion for delivering timely results
- Past experience engaging multidisciplinary teams to resolve problems
- Organizational skills to manage logistical challenges, prioritize concerns, and manage resolutions
- Excellent communication skills, including strong verbal and written English proficiency
- Basic Microsoft Office knowledge
- Experience with the New Product Development process of electrical, electronic, or electro-mechanical products
