About the role
The ideal candidate will lead certification processes with the FAA, interface with the FAA to develop regulatory frameworks, and manage certification activities. They will also develop certification strategies and policies, and interact with foreign regulators.
Responsibilities
- Lead certification processes with the FAA from application to certification testing
- Develop certification strategies aligned with company goals
- Manage in-house and consultant FAA designees
- Develop and implement conformity inspection plans
- Coordinate requests for conformity with the FAA
- Implement conformity inspection processes internally at BETA
- Develop and implement necessary policies, standards, and procedures for ODA
- Interact with the FAA and foreign regulators on Type Certificate validation and sales demonstration activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in aircraft development and FAA certification processes
- Working knowledge of aircraft certification project activities and sequencing
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with team members throughout the organization
- Excellent organizational skills without predetermined structure
- Willingness to be a team player and wear different hats
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical environments
- Proficient in Microsoft products including Microsoft Project and 365/office
