Certificated Substitute Teacher

Temporary daily substitute teaching positions available district-wide.

About the Role

• Effective teaching and learning of assigned subject(s) following district-approved curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices.
• Primary responsibility for student safety, guidance, discipline, and welfare.
• May teach in a variety of elementary classrooms individually or in team-teaching settings.
• Expected to fulfill at least two substitute jobs per month.

Requirements

• Valid Washington State teaching certificate (or qualification to attain one).
• Successful completion of a teacher certification program at an accredited college/university or currently in a student-teaching role.
• Experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities, or demonstrated commitment to engaging a diverse community.
• Experience or skill in creating a caring, orderly classroom environment that facilitates student learning.
• Demonstrated skill or experience supporting students with disabilities.
• Understanding of how injustice or racial inequity may impact students and families' school experiences.
• Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Ability to utilize technology to aid instruction, assessment, and learning.
• Strong relationship-building and networking skills to connect with community resources.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, work under pressure, and remain flexible.
• Ability to meet punctuality and attendance expectations.
• Fingerprint and background check required.

Pay

$200 daily.
