Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations
• Affirms the preparation of drug compounds and solutions
• Fills, checks, and delivers medication orders
• Audits and distributes controlled substances
• Maintains departmental infection control standards
• Creates various reports and documents in support of department record-keeping
• Completes labeling requirements for medication
• Participates in Quality Assurance activities
• Affords assistance in the management of pharmacy inventory
• Affords assistance in day-to-day operations of the Infusion Center
• Maintains professional competency
• Protects and preserves patient rights to confidentiality

Requirements

• High School graduate with experience in pharmacy and familiarity with drug usage, or completion of a hospital-based training program leading to certification as a Pharmacy Technician
• Must be certified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board with the CPHT certification and licensed through the RI Board of Pharmacy as a Tech II
• Must be available for rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights as well as available every other weekend and every other holiday
• Must have experience in working with computers, possess good interpersonal skills, and be proficient in the English language
