Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations
- Affirms the preparation of drug compounds and solutions
- Fills, checks, and delivers medication orders
- Audits and distributes controlled substances
- Maintains departmental infection control standards
- Creates various reports and documents in support of department record-keeping
- Completes labeling requirements for medication
- Participates in Quality Assurance activities
- Affords assistance in the management of pharmacy inventory
- Affords assistance in day-to-day operations of the Infusion Center
- Maintains professional competency
- Protects and preserves patient rights to confidentiality
Requirements
- High School graduate with experience in pharmacy and familiarity with drug usage, or completion of a hospital-based training program leading to certification as a Pharmacy Technician
- Must be certified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board with the CPHT certification and licensed through the RI Board of Pharmacy as a Tech II
- Must be available for rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights as well as available every other weekend and every other holiday
- Must have experience in working with computers, possess good interpersonal skills, and be proficient in the English language
