About the Role

Prepare rooms for new admissions, set up personal care items, and vital sign equipment. Welcome new admissions and orient them to their rooms. Transfer patients between beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs with assistance. Ensure patient and personal safety by following proper lifting and transporting techniques. Document personal care, intake and output, vital signs, and weights according to policy. Collect and label patient specimens at bedside and send them to the lab for analysis. Report changes in patient status promptly. Serve as a liaison between patients, families, staff, and medical personnel. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and unit census. Respond to patient call lights and address their needs. Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe patient environment. Assist patients with activities of daily living as ordered by the physician.

Requirements

  • Mature judgment and the ability to handle confidential information within healthcare guidelines and applicable regulations

Qualifications

  • High School Grad or Equiv

Skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
  • Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A)
  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
  • OR Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT)
  • NonViolent Crisis Intervention Program
  • Certified Health Unit Coordinator (CHUC)
