About the Role
The clinical staff at Premier Physician Network are responsible for general clinical and procedural patient care under the direction and supervision of the center’s physicians and/or providers. This full-time, day-shift position covers 80 hours per pay period and serves a patient base of 1,000 to 3,000 patients, with an average of 20–50 patients seen each day.
Responsibilities
- Assist providers with patient care, including order entry, reporting, phone calls, clerical, and organizational tasks
- Independently perform clinical procedures such as:
- Venipuncture
- Administration of injections
- Pulmonary function tests
- Ear irrigations
- Ultrasound therapy and muscle stimulation
- Application of hot/cold packs
- EKGs and breathing treatments
- X-rays and lab testing
- Holter monitoring
- Dressing changes and wound cleaning
- Hearing and vision tests
- Assist providers with surgical and medical procedures, including minor wound repair and foreign body removals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate
- For Medical Assistants:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certification through a recognized certifying organization
- For Licensed Practical Nurses:
- Completion of a practical nursing and pharmacology program
- Current state licensure with CNE requirements
- Prior experience in an ambulatory healthcare facility preferred
- Self-motivated with a commitment to achieving the highest patient care and customer service standards
- CPR certification required within the first 3 months of employment
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
- Familiarity with the EPIC EMR system is strongly preferred
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA law
