Responsibilities
- Assesses care necessary for client health needs and activities of daily living as directed by the RN case manager.
- Plans and prioritizes client care functions to meet clients' health care needs.
- Implements actions that compliment and support nursing care.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of care provided to ensure quality care and timely completion of client-related activities.
Requirements
- Holds self accountable for delivery of responsible nursing care, demonstrates effective communication skills and interpersonal relationships.
- Assumes responsibility for own continued development and assists with the development of other staff members.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates equipment as outlined on orientation checklists, policy and procedures.
- Participates in equipment in-services and competencies as they relate to role expectations.
- Performs job skills outlined on orientation checklist as they relate to role expectations.
- Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement as required by the Health System and the job description.
Certifications and Licensures
- BLS - Basic Life Support Required
- FingerPrint - Fingerprinting Required
- PCT - MMH PCT/CNA/EMT/LPN Certification Required
- TEAM ADVANCED - Techniques for Effective Aggression Mgt Required
- Vehicle Insurance Required
Experience, Training and Skills
- Has Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
Physical/Mental Requirements and Typical Working Conditions
- Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.
- Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
- Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
- Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
- Frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
- Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material.
- Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
- Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling.
- May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
