About the role
Performs all activities and functions within the Centralized Scheduling department in ensure appropriate scheduling of patient services.
Responsibilities
- Ensures timely and accurate scheduling of patient services
- Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare providers to meet patient needs
- Manages workflow to optimize resource utilization
- Communicates with patients regarding appointment confirmations and cancellations
- Adheres to regulatory requirements and hospital policies
- Monitors and maintains patient wait times
- Works collaboratively with other departments to resolve scheduling conflicts
Requirements
- High school graduate, some college preferred
- Minimum of five years of hospital experience, including a minimum of two years of supervisory experience or related work
- Knowledge of governmental, managed care prior approval, medical necessity, and reimbursement rules and regulations
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
