Central Utility Plant Technician – Nights
About the role
The Central Utility Plant (CUP) Operator role at onsemi supports the safe and efficient operation of the facility's utility systems. This role is suitable for candidates interested in growing their career in facilities operations while working a compressed work week on the night shift.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, operate, and adjust plant equipment (boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, etc.)
- Perform routine inspections and log readings of all utility systems
- Respond to alarms and abnormal system conditions
- Assist with basic maintenance and troubleshooting of plant equipment
- Maintain accurate operational logs and reports
- Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies
- Communicate effectively with teammates during shift turnover
- Support emergency response as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn plant operations
- Ability to work 12-hour overnight shifts on a rotating schedule
