Central Utility Plant Engineer
About the role
Founded in 1975, BR+A Consulting Engineers maintains a total staff of over 500 employees located at our main office in Boston and branch offices in New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Vienna, VA (Washington, DC); Coral Gables, FL (Miami); Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Tampa, FL; Charlotte, NC; Charleston, SC; Houston, TX; New Haven, CT; Los Angeles, CA; Denver, CO; and Toronto. BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services.
Responsibilities
- Perform central utilities work in the scope of building services engineering - primarily for Hospitals, Laboratories, and Higher Education facilities.
- Show strong engineering knowledge and experience of chilled water, heating hot water/steam, cooling towers, and heat recovery systems.
- Demonstrate success in engineering design and the ability to innovate in a practical manner.
- Work in a highly collaborative environment with other MEP disciplines, Energy Engineers, and architects.
- Show working knowledge of REVIT, Navisworks, and ACAD.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- PE license (a strong plus but not required)
Qualifications
- Additional credentials are also desirable - these could include CEM with AEE, CHS with ASHRAE, LEED, etc.
Skills
- Strong engineering knowledge and experience of chilled water, heating hot water/steam, cooling towers, and heat recovery systems.
- Strong coordination skills with other MEP disciplines, Energy Engineers, and architects.
- Working knowledge of REVIT, Navisworks, and ACAD.
