About the role
Receives packages, distributes supplies to departments in the hospital and to surrounding hospital buildings. Inventories and replenishes supplies to nursing units and ancillary patient care areas according to established schedules and levels. Assists departments/customers with questions and supply needs. Maintains the Storeroom, Receiving, and other supply areas.
Responsibilities
- Receiving assignment: greets incoming delivery vehicles, inspects packages for damage, and accepts deliveries. Records package contents in the hospital’s ERP system (Infor) following standard work instructions for packages without purchase orders. Organizes and delivers received supplies to departments.
- Drives hospital vehicle to deliver supplies to departments located off the main hospital campus.
- Ensures accuracy in counts between vendor packing lists, physical product, and ERP purchase orders. Documents variances in the ERP or per receiving protocol.
- PAR assignment: collects Kanban bins from assigned departments and returns them to the Storeroom for replenishment, or conducts PAR level counts in non-Kanban department storage areas to determine replenishment quantities using mobile handheld devices.
- Delivers filled bins and non-Kanban supplies to the appropriate department, room, and shelving locations.
- Stocks Storeroom shelves, straightens supplies, removes unneeded packaging, identifies expired or compromised inventory, and performs other tasks associated with maintaining the Storeroom, Receiving, and other supply areas managed by Supply Chain Management.
- Performs inventory issues when filling department requisitions. Conducts inventory counts for physical inventories, cycle counts, or on-hand quantity verifications.
- Familiar with hazmat package labeling and follows hospital protocol in handling hazardous materials.
- Promptly and courteously responds to department/customer phone calls and inquiries.
- Performs other tasks as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain insurability as determined by the ACH insurance carrier’s requirements.
- Annual physical required to be completed with the Akron Children’s Hospital Employee Health Department.
Qualifications
- Experience in a warehouse or hospital storeroom is preferred.
- Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
- Experience in healthcare is helpful.
- Prior experience working with a Supply Chain Management Electronic Resource Planning (ERP) system preferred; experience with ERP mobile devices is helpful.
- Basic understanding of Excel preferred.
- 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
