Central Supply Coordinator
About the role
The Central Supply Coordinator assists in providing supplies and equipment in an efficient manner, adhering to current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. This position also reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
- Maintains and manages all supplies, including ordering, purchasing, and stocking medical supplies.
- Accurately reports non-formulary supplies and quantities to the Executive Director (ED) and maintains sufficient stock to ensure availability.
- Timely and accurately tracks supplies and their usage.
- Dispenses supplies as requested by DON and Charge Nurse.
- Routinely rotates supplies using FIFO method and ensures they are securely stored.
Requirements
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet the general health requirements set by the facility or department, which may include a medical and physical examination.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Capable of making independent decisions when necessary.
- Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm; willingness to handle difficult residents.
- Willingness to adopt new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Qualifications
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents. Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices. Must be able to handle all the physically demanding aspects of being a Central Supply Coordinator. Must provide great customer service to patients and employees!
