Responsibilities
- Distribute flexible scopes, biopsy instruments, traveling video carts, and other supplies and equipment used in endoscopic patient care.
- Assist with the set-up, changeover, and stocking of procedure rooms.
- Ensure instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated for safe handling.
- Assemble and package instruments for sterilization according to procedure.
- Monitor sterilization and processing equipment for proper functioning and maintain required documentation records.
- Operate computer systems properly and safely.
- Assemble case carts, house-wide procedure carts, and instrument drawers accurately and timely to ensure availability for surgery.
- Respond to routine and non-routine requests for materials, supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Record and maintain department quality-management indicators.
- Promote professional growth and development of self and others.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of Central Service operations course or at least 6 months experience in Central Sterile or equivalent instrument based experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and methods of sterilization.
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of infection control and good aseptic techniques.
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of documentation.
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of instruments and scopes.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone etiquette.
- Central Service Certification preferred.

Pay Range: USD $20.07 - USD $27.18 /Hr.
