Central Sterile Tech II, Nights

5 - 8 hour shifts - 11p-7:30a

Responsibilities

• Processes instruments and equipment.
• Orders, restocks and decontaminates sterilization equipment and instruments.
• Collections dirty equipment and instruments.
• Sorts, loads, unloads and decontaminates equipment and instruments according to procedures.
• Maintains sterilization process by assembling trays, basin sets, packages, instruments and equipment and preparing items for sterilization.
• Handles and stores instruments, equipment and supplies appropriately.
• Completes tray audits.
• Coordinates with management to maintain instrument sharpening/repair schedule for all instruments.
• Serves as a preceptor for peers on the central services team and new orienting employees.
• Prepares case carts according to procedure and preference cards.
• Serves as a willing, cooperative, informative, supportive guide for new employees.

Qualifications

• Education: H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required.
• Work Experience: 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required.
• Licenses and Certifications: CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred.
