Central Sterile Processing Assistant

Description

Join our Sterile Processing team and play a key role in supporting safe, high-quality patient care. This position is responsible for assisting with the decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment under the supervision of Sterile Processing Leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and process instruments in the decontamination area.
• Load and unload instrument washers and cart washers.
• Restock department workstations and supplies.
• Assemble, inspect, and organize instrument trays and equipment.
• Store and distribute sterile instruments and supplies to clinical departments.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and department procedures.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are necessary.
• An understanding of infection control practices and workflows is essential.
• The ability to handle sensitive instruments with attention to detail is required.
• The ability to frequently lift and move up to 30 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and stretch throughout the shift is necessary.
• The ability to work in an environment with exposure to cleaning agents, disinfectants, and biohazard materials is required.
