Responsibilities
- Performs and participates in decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment.
- Trains to perform these duties independently and without close supervision.
- Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, and disinfect surgical instruments.
- Assemble, protect, wrap, contain, peel pack and label surgical instruments.
- Sterilize instruments and equipment.
- Clean, troubleshoot and correctly use CP equipment.
- Perform and record biological and chemical sterilization tests.
- Issue and receive durable, moveable clinical equipment.
- Issue sterile supplies to using areas.
- Perform inventory duties as required.
- Verify that all sterilization processes have been completed and met parameters before making equipment available for use.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- State Licensure or certification as a Sterilization Technician, as required by state regulations or contract specifications
- At least 1 year of experience to work in a fast-paced OR
