Responsibilities

• Network Technician: Installation, operation, administration, and maintenance of Digital and VoIP Telephone Switches, Transport Systems, DLC's, PBX's, Ethernet Switches, Cell Sites, Central Office power systems, and network management platforms.
• PBX Technician: Provide customer service, troubleshooting, educate customers on available ACS products and services, provision and de-provision products and services, answer customer inquiries, run, secure, and terminate necessary cabling, place equipment cabinets, racks, or supporting frame work, accomplish all inter-cabinet wiring, install associated sets and sub-sets of business systems, install associated power equipment and make necessary distribution, install and provision system programming, perform fault location, conduct system or sub-system testing, perform preventative maintenance and database backups, install, maintain, and modify PBX and Key Systems, installation and configuration of vendor specific cards and equipment.
• Central Office Technician: Identify, research, and resolve software and switch issues daily, use applicable interface devices and appropriate test equipment to monitor digital central offices and associated facilities, respond to system messages and associated alarms to determine the root cause of network problems and take appropriate corrective action, analyze switch performance, system faults, customer reports, initiate corrective actions when necessary, perform routine testing, maintain technical documentation, office records, drawings, archived printouts, and site logs, interpret and input complex software translation changes for system upgrades, perform preventative maintenance and database backups, installation, configuration and provisioning of all Remote and Central Office equipment, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Central Office equipment and wiring.
• Data Technician: Perform all associated installation, maintenance and testing on private line and special circuit equipment, digital access cross connect systems, T-carrier, fiber optic terminal and multiplexer equipment, install, align, and maintain line treatment equipment associated with data and analog circuits, install and maintain central office and customer premise equipment, perform line conditioning testing, interpret engineering specifications, schematics, and drawings, perform other duties as assigned.
• Customer and Network Support Technician (CNST): Monitor the network, resolve customer service trouble issues, receive phone calls and accept trouble tickets/reports, manage communication with customers, use various systems and tools to isolate customer trouble, resolve or escalate issues to appropriate Tier III resources, operate the Alaskan Network Operation Center, receive and resolve all Tier II support escalations for ACS products and services, perform other duties as assigned.
• Network Management Systems Support – NOC Admin Engineer: Configure and support operating systems of network equipment and support servers used within the Network Operations Center, install, troubleshoot, and solve systems, desktops, and equipment used in delivering services by the NOC, perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience Required: High school diploma, valid driver’s license, four (4) years training in a relevant telephone apprentice program or equivalent experience leading to journeyman level performance, two (2) years experience in the skills and work this position will typically perform, ability to travel by Air, Land, and Sea to deliver service to remote areas of Alaska.

Certifications and Licenses Required: Vendor specific training and/or certifications, external applicants must pass a pre-employment suitability assessment and either a DOT or non-DOT drug test, depending on position.
