About the role

The Specialist, Post Secondary Transition serves as a key member of the Adult Education team, providing targeted career readiness, employment support, and postsecondary transition services to adult learners.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates career exploration, workforce readiness, and employability skill development activities for Adult Education students.
  • Affords students assistance in identifying career interests, strengths, employment goals, and career pathways aligned with workforce needs and high-demand industries.
  • Conducts workshops and provides individualized support related to job search strategies, professional communication, workplace expectations, and career planning.
  • Supports students with resume development, cover letters, interviewing techniques, professional portfolios, and online employment applications.
  • Captures and coordinates mock interviews, career awareness events, job fairs, employer presentations, and workforce development activities.
  • Establishes and maintains partnerships with employers, workforce agencies, industry representatives, and community organizations to expand employment and career opportunities for students.
  • Affords students assistance in exploring postsecondary education, workforce training, apprenticeship programs, and industry-recognized credential opportunities.
  • Supports students through postsecondary admissions, enrollment processes, financial aid navigation, and connections to student support services.
  • Maintains accurate records of career services, student participation, employment outcomes, workforce training enrollments, and post-secondary transitions while preparing required reports and updates.
  • Collaborates with instructors, student support staff, workforce partners, and community organizations to support student success, program implementation, and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Workforce Development, Education, Human Services, Business, Counseling, Career Development, or a related field required.
  • Experience in workforce development, career services, employment services, education, or community engagement required.
