Central Market Executive Sous Chef - Southlake

Responsibilities

  • Making employment-related and business decisions independently or recommending such decisions, including product and department strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or resolving Partner-related matters.
  • Serving as the primary supervisor, overseeing the daily operations of line cooks and prep cooks to ensure the production of all necessary products for Chef's Case, Cafe on the Run, and Catering.
  • Scheduling all necessary partners within budgetary guidelines.
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area, including kitchen, walk-ins, and storage areas.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef.
  • Proven leadership experience in a complex environment with multiple direct reports.
  • Professional culinary training or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Assisting in new product development and menu costing.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in ordering, inventory maintenance, and shrink control.
  • Proficiency with automated reporting systems such as Inventory, Food Cost, Scheduling, Time & Attendance, and labor.
  • Ability to maintain an efficient operation and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Supervising, training, and cross-training kitchen staff.
  • Maintaining sanitation standards throughout the work area.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including opening, closing, and weekend shifts.
  • Responsible for total kitchen production in the absence of the Executive Chef.
