Central Market (Austin North Lamar) Food Demo Tasting Specialist - Part Time

Responsibilities

• Assists the Customer anywhere in the store with moderate to broad food knowledge.
• Promotes sales through moderate to broad ingredient, food preparation, recipe and product knowledge.
• Works under direct supervision performing assigned demo tasks following established Food Safety and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Applies basic knowledge, skills, techniques and tools to perform assigned tasks.
• Uses moderately specialized subject matter knowledge to perform tasks.
• Exhibits excellent proactive Customer Service and communication skills for Customer engagement.

Qualifications & Key Requirements

• Work Experience: Typically requires 1-3 years of related experience in Selling and/or Customer Service.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Basic food knowledge and experience, knowledge of parings and flavor profiles, interest and ability in food preparation and cooking methods, ability to calculate figures and amounts, ability to lift moderately heavy loads up to 50 lbs.
• Licenses/Certifications: Food safety certification, attend a minimum of 70% all available on-site Vendor Training classes.
• Education: None specifically required.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Exposed to moving mechanical parts; small, confined spaces; cleaning chemicals and airport particles.
• Exposure to noise level is moderate.
• Exposure to lifting moderately heavy loads up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and squatting.
• Exposure to standing and walking for long periods of time.
• Exposure to pushing/pulling heavy loads of 75 lbs.
• Exposure to a variety of repetitive hand motions.
• Exposure to a fast-paced environment.
