Centerless Grinding-Secondary Leader

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a small crew in the department, ensuring work is completed on time and to quality standards.
• Set daily and weekly production schedules, prioritizing work based on production needs and deadlines.
• Operate and maintain various grinding machines, including and manual grinders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with grinding equipment to minimize downtime.
• Maintain inventory of grinding tools and materials, ensuring the department has the necessary supplies.
• Train and mentor team members, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and best practices.
• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and take corrective action when necessary.
• Cookordination with other departments (e.g., Maintenance, Quality Control, Engineering) to resolve production issues and improve workflow.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
• Track production performance metrics and report to upper management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Centerless Grinding operations.
• Proven leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical skills with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machinery and production issues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• An attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production tracking software is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or associate degree in a related field preferred.
• Relevant technical certifications in grinding or machining are a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
