Position Summary
Set up and operate centerless grinding machines to meet blueprint specifications.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprint and job orders for dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
- Mount and regulate grinding wheels and fixtures.
- Dress grinding wheels to specified sizes.
- Moves controls to set grinding speeds, feed rates, and spacing.
- Positions and secures work rests and workpieces.
- Lifts and positions workpieces manually or with hoists.
- Starts machine and observes operation.
- Verifies dimensions for conformance to specifications.
- Changes worn grinding wheels.
- Sets up automatic work feeding devices.

Preferred
- Prior experience in a machine shop environment, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
