Centerless Grinder Operator

Position Summary

Set up and operate centerless grinding machines to meet blueprint specifications.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprint and job orders for dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions.
• Mount and regulate grinding wheels and fixtures.
• Dress grinding wheels to specified sizes.
• Moves controls to set grinding speeds, feed rates, and spacing.
• Positions and secures work rests and workpieces.
• Lifts and positions workpieces manually or with hoists.
• Starts machine and observes operation.
• Verifies dimensions for conformance to specifications.
• Changes worn grinding wheels.
• Sets up automatic work feeding devices.

Preferred

• Prior experience in a machine shop environment, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
