Manufacturing Technician - Centerless Grinder Setup - Operator

About the role

Horberg Industries Inc. in Bridgeport, CT is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Technician - Centerless Grinder Setup - Operator to maintain and operate our grinding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, shop travelers, and operation sheets to set up equipment for optimal efficiency.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as checking fluid levels and dressing regulating wheels.
• Operate and monitor grinding equipment to ensure efficient and precise part production.
• Fix minor malfunctions quickly and effectively.
• Measure, examine, and test completed components using precision instruments.
• Keep detailed records and perform accurate data entry for each job.
• Aid in the training of other team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school experience or equivalent.
• 2+ years of grinding experience or 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, or technical roles.
• The ability to set up and operate centerless grinding machines or the ability to quickly learn to do so.
• Experience reading blueprints.
• Proficiency with inspection equipment such as a micrometer, profilometer, and roundness gauge.
• Basic shop math proficiency.
• Ability to stand throughout a shift in a machine shop environment.
• A high mechanical aptitude.
• A critical thinker and natural problem solver.
• A willingness to learn new skills.
• Able to work well with others in a machine shop environment.
