About the Role

The Center Store Manager ensures customers’ needs are met and exceeded through effective day-to-day management of the operations and merchandising functions for the Center Store Department. This position oversees Center Store product and conditions to optimize sales, profits, and customer satisfaction, including back room and steel/shelving conditions, inventory, schematics, and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to Center Store associates to promote a culture reflective of Lucky's mission statement and winning behaviors.
• Train and develop associates to enable their success and ability to advance in their careers.
• Manage department performance and productivity to optimize store performance.
• Oversee department operations, financials, hazardous materials, food safety rules, products, visual merchandising, and equipment.

Requirements

• Two-year college degree (or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience).
• Completion of Assistant Center Store Manager rotation – or – two years equivalent management experience – or – current Bakery, Meat, or Produce Department Manager role.
• Must be available to work a variety of required retail hours.
• Must be forklift certified.
• Requires standing and other physical movements on a frequent basis; lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, and team-building skills.
• Customer service, training, organization, math, and administration skills (including department financials).
• Knowledge of department operations, store hazardous materials, food safety rules, products, visual merchandising techniques, and applicable union contractual agreement language.

Pay

Hiring pay range: $33.74 - $35.43 per hour.
