Center Manager
Meals on Wheels San Antonio is a leading nonprofit organization that prepares and delivers nutritious meals each weekday to homebound older adults across Bexar and surrounding counties. Since 1977, we have focused on promoting dignity, independence, and quality of life for seniors through home meal delivery, companionship, and daytime care for individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or dementia-related conditions. About the role
The Center Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in San Antonio, Texas, overseeing the day-to-day operations of a senior services center. This position monitors schedules, maintains compliance with organizational policies and safety standards, and manages administrative tasks such as reporting and record keeping. The Center Manager serves as the primary point of contact for participants, families, and community partners, helping resolve issues, coordinating referrals, and supporting a welcoming, inclusive center environment. The role collaborates with leadership to implement program improvements and foster strong community engagement.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
- At least one year of experience working with people in human services or medical-related programs; experience in nursing homes or other senior care facilities is preferred.
- Experience working with the elderly or individuals living with Alzheimer’s or dementia preferred.
- Excellent office administration skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to use reasoning skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize duties effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate warmly and positively to the elderly, and an understanding of confidentiality and sensitivity to the needs of those living with dementia and their families.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; ability to read and write in Spanish strongly preferred.
- Must have a reliable personal vehicle, a valid Driver’s License, a good driving record, and applicable insurance coverage as required by company policy.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
