Job Description
The Center Manager and Instructional Coach will assist the Executive Director with managing center operations, staff development, instructional coaching, and fostering a loving, kind, rigorous, and joyful environment for children and families.
- Provides differentiated practice-based coaching and technical assistance to help improve program quality, including understanding CLASS domains and dimensions, Louisiana Birth to Five standards, GOLD implementation, and Tier 1 curricula fidelity.
- Develops schedules for classroom observations to determine needs and creates individual mentor coaching plans with specific goals and areas for growth.
- Supports teaching staff through constructive feedback, learning materials, and activities, focusing on teaching strategies, lesson planning, and classroom management for infants, toddlers, and pre-k.
- Maintains positive relationships with teachers and program leaders, collaborating to achieve individual and program goals.
- Conducts classroom assessments, develops action plans, and provides ongoing consultation and support.
- Ensures compliance with Louisiana childcare licensing regulations and LDOE goals.
- Tracks and analyzes data to create individualized action plans for teachers and leaders.
- Completes required documentation and reports regularly.
- Collaborates with Continuing Education and Professional Development team to identify professional development needs.
- Maintains certifications as a Pathways trainer, CLASS reliable observer, and TS GOLD inter-rater reliability.
Qualifications and Education
- A Bachelor's Degree is required.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working with young children as an early childhood educator, lead teacher, or instructional coach, with increasing responsibilities and leadership qualities.
- Become TS Gold Inter Rater Reliable, CLASS certified in Infants, Toddlers, and Preschool, and obtain Pathways Trainer Certification within 3-6 months of hire.
- Demonstrated knowledge in best practices in early childhood education, understanding of evaluations, observations, and assessments for both teachers and children.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Experience with technology and virtual platforms, including e-mail, PowerPoint, Google Drive, and Zoom.
- Ability to walk, kneel, stoop, bend, and sit on the floor to attend to children’s needs and model behaviors for teachers.
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is preferred.
