Duties & Responsibilities
- Stand in for Kitchen Manager in times of absence or planned leave.
- Prepare and serve balanced, nutritious meals and snacks tailored to preschool-aged children, following dietary guidelines and menu plans.
- Follow weekly menus that incorporate variety, seasonal ingredients, and meet dietary restrictions or allergies.
- Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to strict food safety standards and sanitation protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, equipment, and storage spaces in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with Kitchen Manager to coordinate meal times and accommodate special dietary needs or requests.
- Manage inventory by ordering supplies, checking expiration dates, and minimizing waste.
Skills
- Meal prep experience within a food service setting.
- Understanding menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques suitable for young children.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety practices, proper food handling, and sanitation procedures.
- Flexibility in providing kitchen coverage and adapting to fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Able to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Familiarity with dietary restrictions and special meal accommodations for children.
- Maintain necessary credentials for ServeSafe and other necessary trainings.
Pay
Salary Range: $15- $16 pending experience
FLSA Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Hours per Week: Less than 29 hours per week. It may vary each week.
