Center-Based Behavior Technician

About the role

Life Skills Autism Academy is seeking dedicated behavior technicians to support children on the Autism Spectrum through ABA therapy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using ABA techniques.
• Follow and implement behavior skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on client behavior.
• Aid in parent and caregiver training according to the client's individualized treatment plan.
• Communicate client progress to parents and caregivers as directed by the BCBA/BC.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Assist BCBA/BC in preparing client materials, assessments, and skills acquisition.

Requirements

• Hold and maintain current RBT certification from BACB or complete a 40-hour training course and take the RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license and car insurance (if applicable).
• At least 18 years of age.
• Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and TB test.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Professional demeanor and ability to handle challenging situations.
• Patience and strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

Skills and Knowledge

• Experience working as a behavior technician, teacher’s aid, tutor, caregiver, or home health aide.
• Strong understanding of technology for data recording and application navigation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive attitude and drive to help clients acquire new skills.
• Cultural competency and flexibility.

Pay

Compensation range: $18-$25 per hour, with increases based on education and experience.
