Position Overview

The UBIF Technician - Google performs device diagnostics, component-level repairs, and customer support for Google-branded hardware. This role focuses on safe, consistent service procedures, accurate documentation, and maintaining quality standards. Technicians troubleshoot issues, replace parts, and verify functionality while protecting customer data and following store workflow. Success requires precise workmanship, clear communication, and adherence to repair policies, ESD practices, and inventory controls. The technician collaborates with teammates to meet turnaround targets and deliver a reliable experience to customers across varied repair scenarios.

Schedule

Schedule Expectations: Full-time team members are scheduled for 40 hours per week, 5 days a week. Store hours differ by location, and flexibility is required to work opening, mid, and closing shifts as scheduled.

Essential Job Skills/Duties

  • Perform diagnostics on Google devices.
  • Execute board-level and modular repairs.

Required Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience repairing consumer electronics.

  • Comfort with structured service workflows.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Prior Google device repair experience.
  • Retail or service desk background.
  • Micro-soldering coursework or training.

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • ESD awareness training completed.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications

  • OEM-authorized Google device certification.
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent credential.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No formal supervisory responsibilities.

Travel Requirements

  • Travels: Occasional local store support.
  • % of Time: Up to 10%.
