Cell Lead

About the role

Ontic is a leading global aerospace OEM trusted by the world’s aviation leaders. Ontic’s Chatsworth, CA site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. With over 1,400 employees across four time zones and seven sites, the company has more than doubled in size since 2019 and continues to grow rapidly. The team is looking for a Cell Manager at the Chatsworth, CA office. The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for team supervision and providing direct support to front‑line team members in meeting their daily production targets to ensure customer expectations are met.

Responsibilities

• Allocate and coordinate resources effectively to meet operational objectives.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, manage member development and recognition, and ensure accountability and policy adherence.
• Identify and resolve day‑to‑day technical and operational issues while coaching and mentoring the team’s problem‑solving capabilities.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, improving the production system to meet customer demand.

• Leadership: ability to guide, motivate, and inspire teams while fostering collaboration, accountability, and a positive work environment.
• Critical thinking and problem solving: analyze situations, evaluate options, and develop effective solutions using logic, creativity, and sound judgment.
• Operational management: oversee daily operations, optimize processes, allocate resources, and ensure productivity while maintaining quality standards.
• Team communication: model excellent communication with internal stakeholders, support teams, and direct reports.
• Time management: identify critical tasks, balance urgent production needs with improvement initiatives, and consistently meet production and delivery targets.
• Lean mindset: follow lean practices such as 5S, waste reduction, and support continuous improvement activities, including 5S, visual management, standardized work, and Daily Management System.
• Computer skills: strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI or Tableau for operational reporting; ability to analyze production data to identify trends and bottlenecks; experience with ERP systems such as SAP; basic understanding of MRP for inventory and production scheduling.

Compensation

Pay range: $85,000 – $110,000 annually.
