Responsibilities
- Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Position parts and sub-assemblies using templates or by reading measurements.
- Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and sub-assemblies.
- Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Manage supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating needed supplies, and verifying receipt.
- Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
- Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Good working knowledge of computer skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: No experience required; 1+ years of prior experience in controls and instrumentation, equipment maintenance, manufacturing, or manufacturing quality preferred. Experience using mechanical inspection or power tools is a plus.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Activity:
- Constantly (6+ hours): Stand, walk, twist/turn, stoop/bend, squat, kneel, reach above shoulder.
- Occasionally (1 to 3 hours): Other tasks as requested.
- Intermittent: Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Environment:
- 100% indoor work.
- Dusty/dirty conditions.
- Medium noise (70–85 dB).
- High vibration.
- Exposure to mechanical and chemical hazards.
