This role will train on 1st shift for 60-90 days before moving to 2nd shift.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates daily and weekly production based on the Magpul production schedule.
- Monitors material flow to the production area; accounts for scrap and unused material; works with the Materials group to ensure accurate inventory on the production floor.
- Monitors the safety practices of departmental employees and ensures safe practices are followed in all areas; corrects all unsafe situations and acknowledges safe behavior.
- Identifies and elevates conflict before it becomes seriously detrimental to the organization.
- Meets or exceeds production and productivity requirements.
- Responsible for new and ongoing employee training across lines within the cell.
- Responsible for development and mentoring of Line Leads and backup personnel.
- Coordinates multiple priorities.
- Performs basic data entry functions within the Magpul ERP system.
- Recognizes achievements and opportunities within the lines.
- Understands and enforces Magpul quality requirements.
- Fully cross-trained in the production area of responsibility with a willingness to assist where needed in the production system.
- Continually evaluates process to reduce waste and add value.
- Works in a warehouse and manufacturing environment (temperature changes, dust, equipment, etc.).
- Sits and/or stands for extended periods of time; lifts 50 lbs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year in a high-volume assembly environment in a lead role preferred.
- Proficient in basic math and problem solving.
- Willing and able to train and mentor new employees.
- Self-starter who takes ownership of projects.
- Able to understand and accept internal and external training.
- Maintains a continuous improvement mindset.
- Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States for any employer.
- Must be authorized to receive Technical Data and/or Technology under U.S. export control laws.
- Pass a background check including restricted party screening and, for Foreign Persons, obtain necessary export licenses.
- Pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
