Cell Isolation Specialist

About the Role

Must accurately type in requisitions. Must be familiar with correct spelling of common names. Must be accurate, detail oriented and thorough.

Responsibilities

• Enter all pertinent information from the requisition into the computer correctly.
• Enter “special handling” and/or frozen requisitions.
• When handling frozen samples, set up work areas by retrieving dry ice, ice chests, racks, and stickers.
• Sign for the integrity of frozen specimens received from couriers.
• At the end of each night, deliver the specimens to the appropriate departments.
• Take complete inventory of contents of envelope.
• Ensure that test requisitions are properly filled out.
• Ensure that work area is properly maintained and is neat and clean.
• Wear protective gear when handling specimens (lab coat, protective eye wear, gloves, etc.).
• Observe safety guidelines and procedures as established by laboratory management as required by law.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor or Lead, which may include handling stats, training new Accessioners, or other specific nightly duties associated with the Accessioning Department.

Requirements

• Associates degree or higher in a field related to health science (preferred).
• Current IATA certification (required).
• Minimum two years of clinical research lab experience.
• Complete all job‑description‑specific training within 30 days of hire or promotion.
• Attend external training sessions/seminars for personal development.
• Thorough knowledge of:
  • Drug development process
  • Clinical trial management
  • Clinical monitoring
  • FDA regulations and ICH Guidelines
• Knowledge of the EU Clinical Trial Directive is a plus.

Pay

The hourly range estimated for this position is $22.61 – $32.00 per hour. Salaries vary within the range based on factors including prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location, internal equity, and market data.
