About the role
The position involves performing work on projects in the NW Florida region, under the general supervision of GRAEF's CEI Construction Engineer and/or Project Administrator.
Responsibilities
- Perform highly complex technical assignments in construction layout, making/checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
- Complete daily construction reports, manually or electronically.
- Review Inspector reports to include work performed, labor/equipment and material quantities.
- Perform and review material testing of concrete, asphalt and aggregates.
- Confirm materials adhere to specifications.
- Inspect and verify construction work in process to ensure compliance.
- Resolve quantity disputes with contractor, and ensure plan and contract conformance.
- Opportunity to train and mentor less experienced employees.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Bachelor's degree considered a plus.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven engineering inspection experience on a variety of bridge and/or roadway projects.
- Ability to perform work in the NW FL region.
- All required CTQP qualifications/Other jurisdictional certifications:
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
- CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
- FDOT Intermediate MOT
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
Qualifications
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
