Key Responsibilities
- Performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests
- Coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors
- Performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator
- Setting own project deadlines
- Providing on the job training to new employees
- Making sure that all work meets quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties
- Conducting daily field inspections and maintaining inspection records
- Participating in punch lists, testing, and commissioning
- Tracking quality assurance progress
- Contributing to documentation for area and equipment turnovers
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Eight or more years of related CEI experience, including work on TDOT projects
- Physical endurance to work in various outdoor environments, including extreme heat and cold
- Trustworthiness and responsibility
- Valid TN Driver's license with a clean MVR
- Completion of drug screening and background check
- Preferred qualifications include:
- TDOT Aggregate Certified Testing Technician
- TDOT Concrete Certified Field Technician
- TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Certified Plant Technician
- TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Certified Roadway Technician
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
- Tennessee Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
