Responsibilities
- Perform basic mathematical calculations and follow simple technical instructions
- Assist higher-level inspectors with field inspection activities and project support
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Work under immediate supervision and report findings to senior inspection staff
- Monitor conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and code requirements by performing inspection duties
- Perform daily field inspections and maintain accurate, detailed inspection records
- Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning activities
- Track quality assurance progress and document inspection results
- Provide input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers
- Document project conditions through photographs and visual records as directed
- Verify materials, equipment, and deliverables meet project specifications prior to installation
- Communicate inspection findings and potential issues to project management and contractors
- Monitor and report on safety compliance and adherence to project safety protocols
Qualifications
- High School Diploma plus 2 years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid U.S Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices
About the Role
Supports a variety of transportation design-build projects throughout the Columbia, SC area. Assists with inspection activities on roadway and transportation infrastructure projects, ensuring construction work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable standards.
