CEE - BRAVE Research Assistant - Sacramento

About the role

The position supports the BRAVE initiative in conducting research in the Sacramento, CA area.

Responsibilities

• Supports the BRAVE initiative in conducting research in the Sacramento, CA area.
• Travel between two daycare centers in Sacramento, CA on Monday mornings to change filters and batteries in air samplers.
• Mailing removed filters to a research lab for testing and recharging batteries.
• Expected to take 3-4 hours/week.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or higher degree in a STEM field.
• Availability Monday mornings at 7:30 am – 10:30 am (or Tuesday if Monday is a holiday).
• Ability to safely use a small ladder to access items above a ceiling.
• Precision and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in collecting and handling air samples using standard sampling techniques.
• Skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining air sampling pumps.
• Background in aerosol science, including sampling, analysis, and related laboratory methods.
