Essential Functions
- Operate commercial vehicles to transport goods safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations and safety protocols.
- Ensure inventory accuracy by loading and unloading shipments, verifying inventory, and maintaining proper documentation for deliveries and warehouse activities.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment to organize and store products effectively.
- Conduct routine vehicle and equipment inspections, perform basic maintenance, and report any issues to supervisors.
Responsibilities/Skills/Abilities
- Drives specified truck to required destination maintaining a priority of law-abiding road safety, always adhering to all DOT regulations and guidelines.
- Complies and adheres to FMCSR (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations), completes pretrip and posttrip inspections, follows any special instructions pertaining to an individual order, and reports any quality or inventory discrepancy issues to the appropriate person.
- Communicates positively with supervisors, fellow workers, vendors, and receivers to coordinate deliveries/pickup.
- Operates a forklift, deep reach fork truck, and pallet jacks safely and efficiently, maintains required OSHA PIT certification, performs vehicle safety checks, and reports discrepancies to supervisor.
- Loads and unloads trailers, presents a neat and professional image.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Organize and properly store all materials in warehouse by allergen or regulatory requirements.
- Assist with weekly, quarterly, annual sanitation and basic maintenance.
- Responsible for all standard operating procedures for receiving inbound and outbound shipments including unloading/loading trucks, and relevant paperwork.
- Sample raw materials as instructed for incoming shipments.
- Ensure all Bill of Materials and Invoices match orders.
- Maintain a sanitary workstation & environment.
- Aid in inventory counts and checks.
- Perform other tasks & duties regarding warehousing & food manufacturing as assigned.
- Aids in keeping the facility clean, neat, safe, and operating efficiently.
- Denotes food safety responsibilities.
Work Experience Requirements
- Must have 24 months of verifiable tractor trailer driving experience out of the last 36 months.
- All MVR's must meet minimum qualifications.
- No more than two moving violations while operating a personal or commercial vehicle in the last three years.
- No felony traffic violations while operating a personal or commercial vehicle in driving history.
- No preventable accident resulting in fatality or catastrophic injury in driving history.
Education/Knowledge Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid and current Class A CDL.
- Current DOT medical certification for a period of at least one year.
- Completed without omissions a DOT employment application.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. on an intermittent basis throughout the day.
- Must be able to sit while driving a truck or material handling equipment for 48 hours per day.
- Must be able to stand and walk for 48 hours per day.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment on concrete flooring and in varying temperatures.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays depending on the needs of the customer.
Work Environment/Hours
- Brand New State of the Art Blending Facility.
- Equipment type: scales, blenders, metal detection, pallet jack, forklift, deep reach forklift, 80,000 GVW tracker trailer, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Must be able to lift 55lbs or greater.
- Fulltime, Office hours are typically 8:30-5:00pm, Monday-Friday with occasional overtime.
- Frequent travel time is expected for the position to local facilities in PA, NJ, DE, and MD.
